The Armageddon Chord by Jeremy Wagner

“The music was a battle cry heard around the world and throughout Heaven and Hell. It would summon Sethis and call out his dark legions to destroy all those who had light in their hearts…”

Deep beneath the Egyptian sands, an ancient, evil song written in hieroglyphics is discovered in the long lost, buried pyramid of the demonic pharaoh, Aknaseth. It is written that if this song is performed for the world to hear, it will unleash the Apocalypse upon the world of man, and Sethis—known commonly as Satan—will reign and grant immortality to the chosen.

Nihilistic multi-billionaire, Festus Baustone III—with the help of the malevolent Egyptologist, Helmut Hartkopff—will do whatever it takes to bring the song to life at any cost…even if his only daughter, Mona, is to be sacrificed.

Kirk Vaisto, known as the “God of Guitar” by his millions of fans, soon finds himself caught between the forces of divine good and monumental evil. Oblivious to the powerful darkness lurking in his guitar strings, Kirk agrees to work for Baustone and Hartkopff to turn Aknaseth’s hieroglyphics into music. Kirk begins a musical journey that takes him from an unholy chapter in ancient Egyptian history to the remains of the true Holy Cross, to the concert stage and to the very edge of Hell itself.Kirk Vaisto will give the performance of a lifetime. Immortality, the end of the world, and the salvation of every mortal soul are the stakes in Jeremy Wagner’s, The Armageddon Chord.

IF YOU SEE HER by Ania Ahlborn

When childhood nightmares become reality…

The house on Old Mill Road has stood in an open field for longer than Jesse Wells has been alive, its crooked windows and jutting turret tormenting the kids of Warsaw, Michigan the way only a haunted house knows how. Everyone imagines that something terrible lurks within the house’s abandoned rooms—especially Jesse and his two closest friends, Casey and Reed. But when Reed chooses the house as a backdrop for his own suicide, childhood ghost stories are transformed into a nightmare that sends Jesse into a downward spiral of grief.

Nearly twenty years later, Jesse stands on the collapsing steps of the house that snatched away his best friend. Casey has asked him to revisit their old demons, if only to help them find closure that’s long overdue. But tragedy finds them once more, and Jesse is left forever changed.

Now, left to cope with the disaster that had become his life, Jesse must unravel the mystery behind the house that has terrified him since he was a boy. To fail is to lose everything he has left. But success might come at an even a higher price.

The Nightmare Continues…

Jessie Voss, however, sees promise in the Crossroad’s bare bones and buys it up, determined to breathe new life into the place.

When the Larson family shows up on her doorstep, road-weary and desperate for a break, Jessie offers them lodging, even though her grand opening is still a week away.

But the arrival of guests awakens the motel, and Jessie soon finds herself host to both the living and the dead.

Section 130 by Katrinka Mannelly Book Cover

SECTION 130 by Katrinka Mannelly

Based on the Dewey decimal system designation for the supernatural  – section 130 is a collection of short stories from new author Katrinka Mannelly

In the library of Katrinka Mannelly’s childhood, Dewey Decimal section 130 contained the supernatural—everything from witches to mermaids, gnomes to poltergeists. Like many children, I devoured these books, working my way through countless titles, studying magical creatures and imagining what encounters with them might be like.

As an adult she is still enamored with the inhabitants of section 130, but life has given her a more cynical view. What if interactions with mythical beings were mundane, or funny, or when special, extraordinary in the most unanticipated of ways?

This is the premise of Section 130, a collection of original short stories averaging 2,000 words in length. Each explores a modern human-supernatural being exchange. Sirens, fey, Sasquatch, Jinn, demons, ghosts, zombies, even tooth fairies in training, and lake monsters have truths to tell us about who we are as people.

THE WAX FACTORY by Justin Bienvenue

Would you enter a creepy thought to be abandoned factory without knowing what awaits you on the other side?

All Dmitri Townsend wanted was the perfect college project. When he and his girlfriend Melina hear about the Wax Factory it sounds and looks ideal, but is everything as it seems? It was once the pride and joy of Ghyslain Vandaldrake, the visionary who was Edison, Dr. Frankenstein, and Lovecraft if they had wax fetishes. He sculpted wax for people in the mid to late 1800s but saw his dreams shattered by unforeseen circumstances. Gustav Vanaldrake dreams of reopening the factory that his great-grandfather was forced to sell. However dark sinister forces are at work in the Wax factory and the deeper Dmitri and Melina explore, the stranger things become. Can Gustav reclaim the glory that forced his great-grandfather to never be heard from again?

Will this be the college project to die for? Perfect for fans of horror and urban gothic, do you dare to step foot in “The Wax Factory?”

Tune in next week for another round of recent releases! In the meantime, please share what you’re reading this month.

Scary books make everything so much better! I've been reading them since I was a wee, weird little thing and grew up with a steady diet of King, Koontz, Barker, and Brite and will read and watch just about anything with a hint of darkness.
